Description |
Financial support was provided by ANID/FONDECYT/Postdoctoral Project number 3150187 (MD) and number 3160551 (ABB), and by the ANID/FONDECYT/Initiation project number 11170368 (MD). The authors thank Dr. Michael Shane, who, during his stay at Universidad Austral de Chile in 2015 (invited by AZF, Project PAI-MEC 80140018), taught us the techniques for determining the activity and immunodetection of PEPC. Dr. Shane was a great researcher dedicated to studying the biology of CR in Proteaceae, and unfortunately, has passed away. Those of us who shared with him remember him fondly. Additionally, we thank Dr. William Plaxton from Queen's University (Kingston, Canada), who kindly sent us the rabbit antibody against castor oil seed PEPC, that was made in his laboratory and was used for the PEPC immunoblotting performed here. The authors thank Annais BertinJimenez for the illustration in Fig. 1.
