Resumen	Procyanidins from grapeseed, grape pomace and pine bark were obtained by extraction with ethanol and further solvent partitioning to obtain a fraction soluble in water and both ethyl acetate, or directly recovered from Amber lite XAD16. Then, proanthocyanidin-enriched fractions were obtained by gel filtration through Sephadex LH-20 or Toyopearl HW-40F. Comparison of galloylated and non-galloylated procyanidins showed the influence of galloylation on the induction of apoptosis in colon cancer cells and in melanoma cells. Fractions from grapes showing galloylation percentages between 15 and 34 % and polymerization degrees between 1.7 and 3.4 induced apoptosis. The cardioprotective potential of proanthocyanidin-containing fractions from grape pomace was studied by measuring the inhibition of human endothelial NADPH oxidase. 1050 values for NADPH inhibition were in the range 2.5-3.4 mg/L. Extracts from green parts of murta (Ugni molinae Turcz.) and maqui (Aristotelia chilensis) are rich in flavonols (kaempferol, myricetin, rutin,- among others) and the fruits rich in anthocyanins. Murta and maqui extracts showed anti-hemolytic activity and inhibited alpha-amylase, although not alpha-glucosidase.#Las procianidinas de la semilla de uva, el orujo de uva y la corteza de pino se obtuvieron mediante extracción con etanol y partición con solventes para obtener una fracción soluble en agua y acetato de etilo, o se recuperaron directamente de Amber lite XAD16. Luego, las fracciones enriquecidas en proantocianidinas se obtuvieron mediante filtración en gel a través de Sephadex LH-20 o Toyopearl HW-40F. La comparación de procianidinas galoiladas y no galoiladas mostró la influencia de la galoilación en la inducción de apoptosis en células de cáncer de colon y en células de melanoma. Las fracciones de uvas que mostraron porcentajes de galoilación entre 15 y 34 % y grados de polimerización entre 1,7 y 3,4 indujeron apoptosis. El potencial cardioprotector de las fracciones que contienen proantocianidinas del orujo de uva se estudió midiendo la inhibición de la NADPH oxidasa endotelial humana. Los valores de inhibición de NADPH obtenidos mediante el método 1050 se situaron entre 2,5 y 3,4 mg/L. Los extractos de las partes verdes de la murta (Ugni molinae Turcz.) y del maqui (Aristotelia chilensis) son ricos en flavonoles (kaempferol, miricetina, rutina, entre otros) y los frutos son ricos en antocianinas. Los extractos de murta y maqui mostraron actividad antihemolítica e inhibieron la alfa-amilasa, aunque no la alfa-glucosidasa.
