Resumen	This article focuses on historically describing the spread of the Athenian plague and the Antonine plague. Through historical-geographical simulation and considering the different contextual elements of the disease such as its rapid spread and means of transportation, we have built two simulations on how the epidemics would have eventually been transmitted throughout the Mediterranean area. In this way, the characterization of the transmission of these diseases allows us to point out the impact of connection networks and how movements were factors that triggered structural changes in each of these societies. In short, we cannot understand the history of our Western society without referring to the impact of these processes from a holistic perspective that combines history, culture and infectious disease.Este artículo se centra en la descripción histórica de la propagación de la peste ateniense y la peste antonina. Mediante simulación histórico-geográfica y considerando los diferentes elementos contextuales de la enfermedad, como su rápida propagación y los medios de transporte, hemos construido dos simulaciones sobre cómo se habrían transmitido las epidemias por toda la región mediterránea. De esta forma, la caracterización de la transmisión de estas enfermedades nos permite destacar el impacto de las redes de conexión y cómo los movimientos migratorios fueron factores que desencadenaron cambios estructurales en cada una de estas sociedades. En resumen, no podemos comprender la historia de nuestra sociedad occidental sin hacer referencia al impacto de estos procesos desde una perspectiva holística que combine historia, cultura y enfermedades infecciosas.
