Resumen	The impact of variables such as ideological profile or type of abortion on the acceptance of voluntary termination of pregnancy (VTP) has been extensively studied and supported. In contrast, the influence of the woman's circumstances has received less attention. The aim of this study is analyze, in a community sample of Chilean adults, the effect of the ideological configuration of the participants (religious involvement and political identification with the right wing) and three woman's circumstances requesting the abortion (socioeconomic status, marital status and the partner's agreement) on the acceptance of VTP due to danger to the woman's life, fetal non-viability, and rape. This study used two multivariate between-subject experimental design. The sample consists of 613 participants - mean age 37.14 years (SD = 15.30). The ideological profile of the participants is the variable with the greatest explanatory power, but its presence does not cancel out the effect of the contextual variables. Thus, ideologically conservative profiles are less accepting of abortion. The effect of contextual variables on greater acceptance of traumatic abortion when the woman is a precariuos situation is limited. However, when the mother is in a less unfavourable situation and her partner does not agree with the abortion, there is an effect towards less acceptance. The most important woman's circumstances is the partner's opinion. The implications of including the woman's context in questioning strategies and the coercive implications of giving weight to the partner's consent are discussed.El impacto de variables como el perfil ideológico o el tipo de aborto en la aceptación de la interrupción voluntaria del embarazo (IVE) ha sido ampliamente estudiado y respaldado. En contraste, la influencia de las circunstancias de la mujer ha recibido menos atención. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar, en una muestra comunitaria de adultos chilenos, el efecto de la configuración ideológica de los participantes (participación religiosa e identificación política con la derecha) y tres circunstancias de la mujer que solicitan el aborto (estatus socioeconómico, estado civil y consentimiento de la pareja) en la aceptación de la IVE debido a peligro para la vida de la mujer, inviabilidad fetal y violación. Este estudio utilizó un diseño experimental multivariado entre sujetos. La muestra consta de 613 participantes, con una edad media de 37,14 años (DE = 15,30). El perfil ideológico de los participantes es la variable con mayor poder explicativo, pero su presencia no anula el efecto de las variables contextuales. Por lo tanto, los perfiles ideológicamente conservadores son menos receptivos al aborto. El efecto de las variables contextuales en una mayor aceptación del aborto traumático cuando la mujer se encuentra en una situación precaria es limitado. Sin embargo, cuando la madre se encuentra en una situación menos desfavorable y su pareja no está de acuerdo con el aborto, se observa una menor aceptación. La circunstancia más importante para la mujer es la opinión de su pareja. Se analizan las implicaciones de incluir el contexto de la mujer en las estrategias de interrogatorio y las implicaciones coercitivas de dar peso al consentimiento de la pareja.
